Fees

Every trade pays 2%, on the curve and in the pool. The creator earns 1.02% of trading volume, paid in the pair asset, for as long as the coin trades.

Every trade of a twain coin pays 2% of its value, on the launch curve and in the Uniswap pool alike: a 1% Pons fee and a 1% creator tax. The rates are set when the coin launches, they are the same for every twain coin, and nobody can change them for a coin that is live.

There is no fee to twain for launching. Pons charges a small launch fee in ETH, shown in the form before you sign.

Where it goes

1% Pons fee
30% kept by Pons, 70% to the coin's fee vault
1% creator tax
All of it to the coin's fee vault
The fee vault receives
1.7% of volume, split 60/40
The creator earns
1.02% of volume
twain earns
0.68% of volume
Pons keeps
0.3% of volume

Pons keeps 30% of its fee. The other 70%, and the whole creator tax, go to the coin's fee vault: 1.7% of trading volume. The vault splits everything it receives 60% to the creator and 40% to twain.

The snipe tax on buys in the first 3 seconds is added to the Pons fee and split the same way.

In which currency

Fees are taken from the asset side of every trade: a buy pays them out of the asset it brings, a sell out of the asset it receives. So fees are always paid in the coin's pair asset: ETH for a coin paired with ETH, a stock token for a coin paired with that stock.

The fee vault

Each coin has its own fee vault, a small twain contract created in the launch transaction. At Pons it is the coin's creator fee recipient: Pons credits the creator's share of every trade to it. The vault has no owner and no upgrade path. It keeps the creator's balance and twain's balance apart, and pays each side only its own.

Claiming

Creators claim from Profile → Creator fees or from the coin's page. A claim pulls in what Pons has credited to the vault, splits it, and pays the creator in one transaction, each coin in its own pair asset.

Anyone may trigger a claim, but the money always goes to the creator, never to whoever sent the transaction.

A creator can hand the role to another address by calling transferCreator on the coin's vault. Unclaimed fees, and all future ones, go with it.

A coin that people keep trading keeps paying its creator. The best thing a creator can do is stay, and that is the behaviour these fees reward.
